Practice assessment visits will be carried out around the country by a new team of 20 assessors, who are listed below, together with some general requirements for becoming an assessor.

Who can be an Assessor?
All assessors are veterinary surgeons and must meet the following criteria:
- to have been members of the RCVS for at least five years;
- to be in full- or part-time veterinary practice, or to have been so within the past three years; and,
- to have been approved as having suitable experience for undertaking inspections.
Assessors are appointed as employees of the RCVS, they are expected to attend an annual training day(s), buddied assessments and are subject to annual appraisal by the lead assessor.
