Welcome to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

Management menu at VPMA

Heading to VPMA Congress? Bring your lunch with you to the Kenilworth 2 Lecture Theatre at 1.15-2pm on 27 January, for one, two or all three of the following bite-size sessions, delivered by RCVS President, Dr Jerry Davies.

Starter

1:15 – 1:30 - Practice managers’ guide to the Professional Development Phase

All new graduates should complete the Professional Development Phase (PDP), but RCVS research suggests that those who do not receive adequate support from their employers don’t get as much out of it as they could.

Using the PDP as part of a structured appraisal process can bring dividends to both practices and new graduates.

Find out how.

Main course

1:30 – 1:45 - Update on the Practice Standards Scheme

Hear about updates to the Scheme and how you can input into the next review.

Pudding

1:45 – 2:00 – The new Codes of Professional Conduct for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses

The new Codes are likely to be launched in April.

The drafts have been amended following consultation – and the new format is a big change from the Guide people have become familiar with.

Come and find out what to expect.
