Put your questions to the College at upcoming Regional Question Times

21 April 2016

We will be holding two of our Regional Question Time meetings in May to give members of the veterinary team the opportunity to put their questions to us.

Dr Bradley Viner, RCVS PresidentThe first event will take place at the Belfry Hotel in Nottingham on Tuesday 17 May and the second will take place at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff on Tuesday 31 May. Both events are free to attend and start with a buffet supper at 6.30pm with the main event beginning at 7.15pm.

The first half of both evenings will be split into two streams – a general question and answers session chaired by President Dr Bradley Viner (pictured); and a session based around the joint RCVS and British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) VN Futures project chaired by Liz Cox, Chair of Veterinary Nurses Council.

The two groups will then reconvene for the second half of the meeting to discuss topics that affect the whole team.

In the afternoon before both events we have also organised free, 45-minute Practice Standards Scheme surgeries between 12 noon and 5pm.

The Nottingham surgeries will be held by Pam Mosedale, Acting Lead Assessor for the Practice Standards Scheme; while the Cardiff surgeries will be held by Senior Assessor Richard Killen. Surgeries are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. To book a surgery, please contact our Events Officer Emma Lockley on [email protected] or 020 7202 0773.

As part of our Mind Matters Initiative, we will also be holding mental health awareness training sessions in both Nottingham and Cardiff between 1.30pm and 5pm to help members of the veterinary team better recognise the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health, understand how to have first conversations with people they are worried about, and learn how to signpost to further help.
