Highlights of RCVS Day now available to watch again

31 July 2015

Some of the key moments of RCVS Day - our Annual General Meeting and Awards Day - are available to view on two new videos on our YouTube channel.

One of the videos features the entirety of the keynote talk from our guest speaker Professor Will Hueston from the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine and School of Public Health.

His speech, entitled 'Science, Politics and Beliefs: Can Veterinarians Change the World?’ examines the profession’s past as well as its current challenges and future opportunities.

In the speech he encourages more members of the profession to take up 'public good' roles in areas such as disease prevention, food safety and policy rather than focussing on clinical, private and practice and encourages the RCVS to do more to support non-clinical career paths.

The other video features some of the other highlights of RCVS Day including Dr Bradley Viner's inaugural speech as President, the awarding of the Queen's Medal to Lord Soulsby of Swaffham Prior and our CEO Nick Stace's annual address.
