VN Council Nominations 2017

If you are considering standing for election to VN Council in 2017, you will need to download and read the following information carefully, and then complete and sign the necessary forms before posting them back to us.

Guidance notes

The guidance notes explain the Election Scheme, timetable for nominations and voting period, what documentation is required, guidance about your Candidate Statement and rules about canvassing.


Nomination form

The nomination form requires your name, Register address and signature, together with those of your two nominators, and the date.


Candidate information form

The candidate information form needs to contain all the information that we will publish about you for the electorate to read.

This includes your full name and contact details, a short biography (no more than 200 words) and a 'manifesto' statement (no more than 300 words).



There will be an election for two veterinary nurses to serve on VN Council for a period of four years from the Annual General Meeting in July 2017.

The current members of VN Council who will retire at the Annual General Meeting in 2017 and are eligible for re-election are:

  • Andrea Jeffery RVN
  • Marie Rippingale REVN

Nominations must be submitted in writing on the prescribed form to the Secretary to the VN Council, and completed on or before 31 January 2017, along with the accompanying candidate biography (no longer than 200 words) and statement (no longer than 300 words) and photographs.

Voting papers will be distributed to all registered veterinary nurses in the week commencing Monday 13 March 2017.

Each nomination form must bear the signatures and registered addresses of two proposers.

No proposer may nominate more than one candidate or be a member of VN Council.
