Biography

PIC member David Harding

David qualified from Royal Dick Veterinary College in 1983 and after a short period in home practice in Dalbeattie, South-West Scotland moved to mixed practice in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. He became Partner in 1989 and developed an interest in Dairy Cattle Fertility. David became President of the Association of Veterinary Surgeons, Practicing in Northern Ireland 1994 then Veterinary Advisor and Vice President of Ulster Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 1995 –2003. David was elected to RCVS Council 2001-2008 and served on Disciplinary Committee then PIC (Chair PIC 05-08).

He was a Councillor at Coleraine Borough Council 2009-2014, Causeway Coast and Glens Councillor from 2013 until present. David now works part time in practice as an employee, mainly farm animal but small animal consults once per week. He was nominated NI Environment Agency Cetacean Stranding Veterinary Surgeon for the North Coast. His pastimes include choral singing, golf and walking dogs (Lucky and Ringo).
