Mr Charles Gruchy MRCVS


Biography

Charles Gruchy MRCVSCharles Gruchy graduated from St Catharine’s College, University of Cambridge in 1976 and worked in mixed veterinary practice with an equine bias in Buckinghamshire.

In 1979 he returned to Jersey to join his father’s Veterinary Hospital practice, becoming a partner in 1982.

The practice now employs 13 veterinary surgeons working from the RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital, equine centre (core standard) and branches (general practice standard), as well providing veterinary services for the States of Jersey and Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Before election to the Council in 2008, Charles had been a co-opted member of the Advisory Committee, and a member of the BVA Ethics and Welfare Group.

Charles still works full time in practic, holds several honorary veterinary posts in Jersey and is currently President of the Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Away from work, Charles likes to play golf, sail and go horseracing.
