Findavet - General Information

Find a Vet is designed to help you locate a veterinary practice in your area. The information is supplied by the practices themselves and is updated on a regular basis.

The simple search allows you to enter a full postcode or a postal town name and will return the closest 100 practices to that town/postcode. These results can also be filtered by entering part of the practice name. The new Advanced search feature allows users search specifically for a practice that has been accredited by the RCVS as part of the Practice Standards Scheme, as well as other practice facilities.

Search Help and Hints

A full Royal Mail postcode (e.g. SW1P 2AF) or postal town (e.g. Henley-on-Thames) must be entered in order to avoid ambiguous matches. When searching for practices in Greater London, it is advisable to search by using a postcode rather than town, as there are many more than 100 practices with a postal town of London. If you don't know a full postcode for the area you wish to search, use our postcode region list to make your selection.

The Advanced Search allows users to filter the results by a range of different criteria, from species treated through practices offering a specific service (e.g. RCVS Accredited Practices) to practices employing an RCVS Recognised Specialist or with a specific postgraduate qualification.

The search results can also be filtered by practice name. The practice name field is automatically wildcarded, which means that you can search by only entering part of the name - for example, if you wanted to find Bloggs Veterinary Practice, typing "bloggs" into the practice name field would find you what you were after. If no town or postcode is entered, and only a practice name, the results will be ordered alphabetically by practice name instead of by distance.
