Candidate nominations 2010Nominations for Council are now open. Please read the following election notice before completing and returning your candidate information and nomination forms (available to download below). All forms must be received by the RCVS by 31 January 2010. Election noticeIn accordance with the provisions of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Council Election Scheme 1967 (as amended 2006), there will be an election for six RCVS members to serve on RCVS Council for a period of four years from the Annual General Meeting in July 2009. The current members of Council who will retire at the Annual General Meeting in 2009 and are eligible for re-election are:
Nominations must be submitted in writing on the prescribed form to the Registrar, duly completed on or before 31 January 2010, along with accompanying statements and photographs. The nominations form and details about the form and content of statements from candidates are available from the Registrar. Voting papers will subsequently be distributed to all members of the College on or before 12 March 2009. Each nomination form must bear the signatures and registered addresses of two proposers. No proposer may nominate more than one candidate or be a member of the Council. Miss J C Hern NB 'members' and 'proposers' must be members of the RCVS resident outside the Republic of Ireland (unless he/she has retained his/her right to vote in Council elections in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons (Agreement with the Republic of Ireland) Order 1988).
